Line Counter
Count the lines in your text, including or excluding blank lines, which is what most code editors and submission forms actually limit. Handy for form limits.
How to use
- Paste your text into the box.
- Choose whether blank lines are included.
- Read the total as you type.
A line counter measures how many lines a text occupies. Code review tools, form fields, and print limits all count lines rather than words, so this is the number to check before submitting.

Questions about line counter
- Does the last line count?
- Yes. Text ending without a trailing line break still counts its final line.
- Why do some tools count different lines?
- Some include blank lines and some do not, and a trailing line break can add one extra. The counter shows both figures.
- Does it count wrapped lines?
- No. Only the line breaks you typed are counted, not the way a text wraps on screen.
