Base64 Encoder
Encode any text to Base64 with full UTF-8 support, including emoji and non-Latin scripts, and switch to URL-safe output when a token needs it.
How to use
- Type or paste the text to encode.
- Turn on URL-safe output to swap plus and slash and drop the padding.
- Copy the Base64 string.
Base64 encoding turns arbitrary bytes into a text-safe alphabet of letters, digits, plus, and slash. It is not encryption, so treat the result as readable data rather than a secret.
Paste or type something above.
Questions about base64 encoder
- Is Base64 encoding encryption?
- No. Anyone can decode it without a key. Use it for transport and token formats, never to hide a secret.
- Does it handle emoji and accents?
- Yes. The input is encoded as UTF-8 first, so characters outside Latin-1 survive the round trip.
- What does URL-safe change?
- Plus becomes a hyphen, slash becomes an underscore, and trailing padding is removed, which makes the result safe in a URL or filename.
