Anagram Checker
Check whether two texts are anagrams of each other by comparing their letters, with a note on exactly which letters differ when they are not. Names the difference.
How to use
- Paste the first text in the top box.
- Paste the second text in the bottom box.
- Read the verdict and the letter counts.
An anagram checker sorts the letters of two texts and compares them. When they differ, the tool names the extra letters rather than only saying no, which usually makes the fix obvious.
Questions about anagram checker
- Does it ignore spaces and case?
- By default yes, since spacing and case are not part of the letters themselves.
- What is a real anagram?
- Listen and silent, or EKG and keg, use exactly the same letters with the same counts.
- Why does it name the extra letters?
- Because the difference is nearly always a missing or extra letter, and naming it fixes the comparison faster than guessing.
