Word Finder
Count how often a word appears in your text and show every occurrence with the words around it, so you can judge each use in context. Shows the context too.
How to use
- Paste your text into the box.
- Enter the word to look for.
- Read the count and the list of contexts.
A word finder locates every occurrence of a word and shows the surrounding context. The context is what matters, because a repeated word is a problem in one sentence and perfectly fine in another.

Questions about word finder
- Why show context rather than just positions?
- A number tells you a word is repeated, but the surrounding words tell you whether that repetition reads badly.
- Does it find words inside longer words?
- Not by default, which is what you usually want. Turn whole word off to include them.
- Can I search for a phrase?
- Yes, any text is accepted, so a two-word phrase works too.
